Fake Doctor from West Bengal Arrested for Running Illegal Clinic in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: A man from West Bengal has been arrested for allegedly running a private clinic illegally in Odisha’s Bolangir district.

The accused, identified as Palasa Biswas from West Bengal’s Rameswarpur had been operating a clinic in Sindhekela, under Bangomunda block, for several years.

Authorities discovered that Biswas had been practising medicine with fake degrees, raising suspicions among locals.

After multiple complaints, a joint police team from Titilagarh and Balangir raided his clinic, uncovering evidence that confirmed Biswas had falsely claimed to be an MBBS doctor.

The arrest was made in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO). Biswas faces charges under the Odisha Clinical Establishments (Control and Regulation) Act and the National Medical Commission Act.
