2 Men Involved in Sexual Harassment of Schoolgirls Injured & Nabbed After Encounter

Lucknow: Two youths accused of sexually harassing two schoogirls last week in Deoria of Uttar Pradesh were arrested on Monday after an encounter which left them injured in their legs.

The arrested accused youths were identified as Dheeraj Patel and Ritik. They were under the age of 20 years. They allegedly fired at the police team when they were surrounded.

In the exchange of fire both accused received bullet injuries in their legs. Police have seized two country made pistols and cartridges from them.

The encounter took place at the Kanchanpur-Sirathia Gotha Road in the Tarkulwa police station area. Both were admitted to a hospital and their condition was out of danger.

On October 4, they had allegedly sexually harassed the two schoolgirls when they were returning to their homes from school.

The school administration had lodged an FIR at the Tarkulwa police station regarding the matter.
