Raipur: Maoists murdered a 55-year-old man in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district accusing him to be acting as a police informer.
The body of the victim, identified as Kanhaiya Tati, was located near a school in Poshanpalli village under Bhopalpatnam police station limits on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, a group of armed Naxalites abducted Tati from his home at Poshanpalli. Accusing him to be acting as a police informer, the red rebels killed him using sharp-edged weapons.
The police team has rushed to the spot to track down the killers.
This year, 51 persons have been killed by Naxalites so far in seven districts including Bijapur that come under the Bastar division.
