A California-based teacher in the US has sparked off a row for allegedly awarding bonus marks to students who skip taking bathroom breaks during class.

The mother of a girl student revealed this bizarre bathroom policy of the teacher in a social media post. This post drew public attention as well as criticism for the teacher.

In the viral post, the mother reveals that her daughter’s math teacher has implemented a harsh rule that permits only one bathroom pass per week, and if students don’t use it, they receive extra academic credit. Without disclosing her daughter’s age, the mother expressed her outrage, stating, “I am livid.”

“But my daughter is mad that I want to email the teacher and CC the principal. Am I wrong here?” she added.

Her post uploaded on X on September 5, has got 16 million views, inviting ample criticism from the social media users towards the teacher.

One parent has commented that her daughter experienced a similar situation with the same teacher, who made her hold her pee for the last 30 minutes of class.
