Rs 5000 Credited to Accounts of 35 Lakh Women in Odisha Under Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar: In the second phase of the disbursement of the first installment of the Subhadra Yojana of the BJP government in the state, Rs 5000 was credited to the bank accounts of around 35 lakh female beneficiaries in Odisha.

During a special function held at Chau Ground in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, in the presence deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and several other dignitaries, released the Subhadra Yojana money to the 35 lakh women of the state.

Subhadra Yojana was one of the major promises in the election manifesto of the BJP in Odisha. PM Modi launched the Subhadra Yojana in Bhubnaeswar on his birthday on September 17.

Under the scheme, each female beneficiary will receive Rs 10,000 per year in two installments of Rs 5,000 each, one on Rakhi Purnima, and the other on International Women’s Day (March 8) for five years.
