Dalit Labourer Urinated Upon by Father-Son for Asking Payment of Wages in Bihar

Patna: A Dalit labourer was beaten up, spat on his face and urinated upon by a father-son duo for asking for his pending wages in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district. He had worked in the poultry farm of the father-son duo.

The victim named Rinku Manjhi faced this ordeal on October 4 when he went to the poultry farm of the accused, Ramesh Patel and demanded wages for the two days he had served there.

According to the victim’s complaint, Ramesh was infuriated by his wage demand. Ramesh, his brother Arun Patel and his son Gaurav Kumar beat up Rinku. He also added that Ramesh Patel and his son Gaurav Kumar urinated upon him and also spat on his face.

Rinku Majhi complained about the incident before the local police on October 8 and also submitted a video of the incident as evidence.

The police have registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and SC/ST Act, and an investigation was launched into the matter.

Police have identified the accused and an investigation is on.
