7 Cops Injured Facing  Attack in Jajpur While Attempting to Rescue Minor Girl

Jajpur: At least seven policemen were injured when they faced an attack while trying to rescue an abducted minor girl in the Barchana area of Jajpur district.

The persons accused of kidnapping the girl allegedly beat up the cops.

According to reports, the police team was trying to rescue a girl from the Delang area of Puri district, who was allegedly kidnapped and kept captive in the Barchana area.

Following a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, a police team from Delang police station with the help of Barchana police reached the village where she was kept captive.

But the police team faced an attack by the miscreants during their rescue attempt.

Seven policemen including the Delang IIC were injured in the attack. Four cops from Badachana police station involved in the rescue operation were also beaten up.

Police have formed a special team to nab the persons involved in the attack, who have absconded.
