Cyclonic Circulation Over BoB May Lead to Low-Pressure Formation by October 14: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting the formation of a low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal around October 14. The circulation is currently located over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean, extending up to the middle tropospheric levels.

Additionally, an upper-air cyclonic circulation over the central region of the south Bay of Bengal has shifted to the southwest Bay of Bengal at lower tropospheric levels.

The IMD also noted that conditions are now favourable for the further withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim in the coming days.
