EV Scooter Burns Down As Battery Explodes in Subarnapur

Sonepur: An electric scooter was burnt to ashes when its battery exploded at Ulunda in the Subarnapur district. The incident took place in front of the Ulunda block office.

As per reports, the owner of the EV Rabi Narayan Senapati had parked the vehicle in front of a shop when his battery exploded all of a sudden burning down the scooter completely.

Fire officials rushed to the spot. But it was too late. The scooter had been fully burnt by the time the fire brigade arrived.

Whereas the reason behind the fire accident is yet to be ascertained, a technical team would analyse the matter and submit a report, the police said.

However, the manufacturer of the EV has not come up with any statement regarding the accident due to battery malfunction.

The centre is promoting electric vehicles (EVs) in the Indian market as they have zero emissions. Yet the increasing number of EV fire accidents has caused panic among consumers.
