10 Dacoits Nabbed in Sambalpur, Items Worth Rs 75 Lakh Seized

Sambalpur: Ten members of a gang of dacoits were arrested by Sambalpur police on Wednesday.

The cops seized 480 gm of gold, Rs 5.12 lakh cash, 175 gm of silver, two four-wheelers, two tractors and four bikes from the possession of arrested persons.  The total worth of the seized items is around Rs 75 lakh.

According to police sources, this dacoit gang was targeting rice mills, petrol pumps and country-liquor outlets in western Odisha. At least 21 cases are registered against the arrested members of the dacoit gang in Sambalpur, Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sundergarh districts.

The Sambalpur police is investigating to track down other members of the gang.
