2 Killed in Hit and Run Accident in Sambalpur District

Sambalpur: Two people were killed on Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident on State Highway No. 24 near Paruabhadi village under Kuchinda police station limits in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

One of the victims was from Paruabhadi, while the other was from adjoining Pandikata village.

At around 5.30 am while they were on their way to attend to nature’s call, both were hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle. Both died on the spot. The accident causing vehicle preferred to escape from the spot after running over the duo.

Angry villagers blocked the road for sometime demanding proper compensation to the victims’ families and arrest of the accident causing vehicle.

Kuchinda police and local authorities rushed to the spot to pacify the protesting villagers.
