2 Lashkar Commanders Trapped During Encounter with Troops in Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Two top commanders of The Resistance Front, a terror outfit linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, were trapped during an exchange of fire with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

The encounter began when the security forces got intelligence reports about a terror hideout in the Nehama area in Pulwama. When the security forces and the police cordoned off the area and started a search operation, the hiding terrorists fired at them, resulting in a gunfight.

The terrorists trapped have been identified as Rayees Ahmad and Reyaz Ahmad Dar from the Pulwama district in south Kashmir.

The exchange of fire was going on and there were no reports of casualties on either side so far, a police official said.

On May 7, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam. Basit Dar, a terrorist of the Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-backed terrorist organisation, was among the slain terrorists.
