2 Poachers Arrested for Hunting Deer in Mayurbhanj Dist

Bhubaneswar: Two poachers were arrested for hunting a deer at Puusottampur village under Betanoti Range in Mayurbhanj district.

They reportedly chased and killed a deer with bows and arrows. Then they escaped with the deer’s meat to sell it. Both were arrested on Monday.

The deer strayed into Maheswarpur Pata forest near Purusottampur village in search of food. Locating it all alone, the two poachers killed it for meat.

The video of the duo poaching the animal has gone viral on social media.

After getting the information, forest officials and police arrested the two men under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
