Death Toll in Jammu Bus Accident Climbs to 21, Over 60 Injured

Jammu: A horrific accident unfolded in Jammu district on Thursday, leaving at least 21 pilgrims dead and more than 60 injured. The incident occurred near Tangli morh in the Choki Chora belt, where a bus carrying devotees skidded off the road and plunged into a steep gorge.

Reports suggest the bus, carrying passengers from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh, was headed towards the holy shrine of Shiv Khori in Reasi district. The vehicle reportedly veered off course and tumbled roughly 150 feet down the gorge.

Jammu Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar confirmed the accident and ongoing rescue operations near Tanda, Akhnoor. The injured were rushed to Akhnoor hospital and Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu for medical attention.

Akhnoor SHO Tariq Ahmed revealed there were likely over 50 pilgrims onboard the ill-fated bus. He cautioned that the casualty toll might rise as rescue efforts continue.
