3 Maoists From Chhattisgarh Surrender Before Odisha Police In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Three Maoist cadres from Chhattisgarh surrendered before police in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Thusday.

The surrendered Maoists were Deb Madvi, Adam Madkami and Muka Sodi. All of them hailed from the Sukma area of adjoining Chhattisgarh.

They surrendered before Malkangiri SP. All of them were involved in several incidents of Maoist violence and were also serving as informers of the Naxalites.

After surrendering before the police, they expressed their desire to return to mainstream of the society and lead a normal life.

Deb Madvi had joined as Gram Rakshak of the Maoists’ South Bastar division in 2020. He used to provide food and necessary items to the outfit besides working as an informer about police activities in the area. After a CRPF camp was set up in Debakonta, he decided to dissociate from the Maoists.

Adam Makami was working as a militia member of the Maoists in Konta since 2019. He was an active cadre till January, 2024. He was involved in several criminal activities of the Maoists including planting IED and attack on police camps.

Similarly, Muka Sodi had gone into Maoist fold in 2018 and later, worked as a militia member. He was staying in his village and working as Gram Rakshak. He was also an informer and supplier of the Maoists.
