3-Yr-Old Rape Victim Dies in Bhubaneswar, Accused Arrested

Bhubaneswar: A three-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped, died during treatment in Bhubaneswar.

The accused identified as Santosh Khuntia (25) had absconded after committing the crime. According to sources, he has been arrested by the police.

According to reports, the victim was staying with her parents in the Sundarpada area of Bhubaneswar. On Monday, while her parents were out of home, Santosh, a neighbour, allegedly raped the girl.

After committing the crime, the accused escaped from the spot.

After getting back home, the couple found the girl in critical condition and admitted her to the Capital Hospital where she died during treatment.

The parents of the victim lodged a complaint at the Airfield Police Station. Investigating the case, the police also arrested a friend of the accused fro investigation.

Further investigation into the case is underway. The arrested accused is being interrogated.
