4 Maoists Killed, 2 Arrested in Encounter in Jharkhand

Ranchi: At least four Naxalites were slain in an encounter with security forces in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district. As per information provided by the Jharkhand police on Monday morning, this exchange of fire occurred in Tonto and Goilkera area.

Two other Maoists were also arrested from the spot of the encounter. The arrested Maoists include an area commander and a hardcore female Naxalite. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the encounter site. Search operation is still going on in the area.

Two days back eight Maoists and a jawan of the Special Task Force (STF) were killed in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district. Six of the eight Maoists killed in the encounter were senior rank cadres and carried cumulative cash rewards of Rs 48 lakh.
