4 Militants Nabbed in Manipur, Arms Seized

Imphal: Four militants were arrested in separate operations in Manipur. The nabbed militants were members of different outfits. Arms and ammunition were seized from them.

The arrested militants included one each of the NSCN(IM) and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), and two of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) (Lamyanba Khuman faction). They were tracked down from Imphal East and Bishnupur districts.

Six firearms, five cartridges and two explosives were also seized from the nabbed militants.

Search operations were conducted by security forces in fringe and vulnerable areas of the five valley districts. A total of 129 checkpoints have been erected in various hill and valley districts.
