7 Dead, Several Injured in Explosion at Coal Mine in West Bengal

Kolkata: At least seven persons have died and several others have been injured in an explosion at a coal mine in West Bengal’s Birbhum district on Monday.

According to sources, this blast occurred at the colliery of Gangaramchak Mining Private Limited, located in Birbhum’s Lokpur area. The explosion happened while coal was being extracted from the mine.

The blast also damaged vehicles parked near the coal mine.

Local police reached the spot and transported the injured to a nearby medical facility.
