7 Naxalites Slain in Encounter With Security Forces in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada

Raipur: At least seven Maoists were killed in an encounter with District Reserve Group (DRG) personnel along the inter-district border of Narayanpur, Dantewada and Kondagaon.

According to Chhattisgarh police sources, the operation is still underway. Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the spot of encounter. Seven bodies of the Maoists were recovered.

Three Jawans of the Narayanpur DRG were injured in the encounter. They were airlifted to a hospital.

The encounter took place in the Gobel area under the East Bastar Division. A joint team of DRG from Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada and Jagdalpur along with the 45th Battalion of ITBP were involved in this anti-Maoist operation. Earlier, on June 2, Maoists set a mobile tower on fire in Durmi village in the Narayanpur district.
