Sonepur: Personnel of the fire services on Tuesday could take out the 80-year-old woman who had fallen into a 20-feet deep abandoned borewell near Kainphula village under Sadar block of Odisha’s Subarnapur district on Monday evening. But she could not survive.
The pulse rate of the elderly woman was low at the time of rescue, said officials monitoring the rescue operation. So, she was immediately shifted to the Subarnapur District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. But the doctors there declared her dead.
The rescued woman, identified as Dukhi Negi (80) had accidentally fallen into the abandoned borewell in a field on Monday evening. Receiving information personnel of the Fire Services had rushed to the spot to initiate a rescue operation.
The stranded woman was continuously supplied oxygen was through the opening of the borewell.
With an excavator supplied by the district administration, the fire the Fire Services personnel dug another hole parallel to the borewell at a distance of around 10-feet from the borewell to rescue the woman.
They could take out the woman from the 20 feet deep hole. But the life of the woman could not be saved.
