9 Killed, 33 Injured in Terror Attack on Pilgrims’ Bus in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: A terrorist attack on a bus with pilgrims coming from Shiv Khori in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir claimed the lives of nine persons on Sunday evening. At least 33 persons were injured in this terrorist attack.

The Indian Army launched a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi on Monday morning following this major terror attack. Drones are also being used in the search operation in dense forest areas near the place where the attack took place. The bus targeted by the terrorists was travelling from the Shiv Khori shrine to Katra. It faced the terrorist attack at around 06.10 pm near Pouni of Reasi district.

The armed terrorists opened fire at the bus. The driver lost control and the vehicle fell into a gorge.

The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Naraina and Reasi District hospitals. Initial reports suggest most of them are from Uttar Pradesh.

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha condemned the attack and assured action against those behind it.  He informed that PM Modi PM has directed that all the injured are provided the best possible medical care & assistance.

Odisha former CM and BJD head Naveen Patnaik condemned the dastardly attack and wrote on X, “Strongly condemn the horrific attack on pilgrims by terrorists in #JammuAndKashmir’s Reasi district. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families. Wish speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries in the incident.”
