Cuttack: Because of an order of the Orissa High Court, a 91-year-old widow, Hara Sahu from Kandarpur village under Kendrapara’s Derabisi block, will receive a pension after 46 years of her husband’s death.
The Orissa High Court directed the Odisha government to make payment of her pension as well as arrears since the death of her husband.
Hara’s husband Benudhara Sahu, who was employed as an associate teacher at Duhuria school in Kendrapara died in 1977. But Hara despite all her afforest could not get the family pension from the State government.
At last, she moved to the Orissa High Court. The court found that Hara was eligible for the family after the demise of her husband. So, the High Court ordered the concerned department to pay up her pension with arrears and relevant interest.
