Afghanistan To Tour India For 3-Match T20I Series Starting From January 11

New Delhi: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has officially announced that the Afghanistan men’s cricket team will tour India for a three-match T20I series in January 2024. The series is scheduled to take place from January 11 to January 17.

In a statement, the ACB confirmed the dates of the T20I matches as January 11, 14, and 17. The venues for the matches are Mohali, Indore, and Bengaluru, respectively.

This series holds significance as it marks the first time Afghanistan and India will face each other in a multi-match white-ball series. Despite encountering each other in various Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and ICC events, this series adds a new chapter to their cricketing rivalry.

The historical encounters between the two sides in T20Is have seen India emerge victorious in all five previous meetings. However, the upcoming series provides Afghanistan with another opportunity to challenge India and make their mark.

It’s worth noting that Afghanistan recently visited India for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, where they secured the 6th position on the points table. Their impressive performance included memorable victories against England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
