Another Bridge Collapses In Bihar; 2nd Incident In A Week

Patna: A bridge suddenly collapsed in Bihar’s Siwan on Saturday. The collapsed bridge was over the Gandak canal. It collapsed with a loud noise that was heard till Ramgarh in adjoining Darbhanga district.

According to reports, there were no casualties from the incident. This bridge connected the markets of Patedhi Bazar in Maharajganj district with Ramgarh Panchayat in Darbhanga district.

Locals alleged that the bridge was quite old and had not been maintained properly since its construction nearly four decades back.

After the bridge collapse, the locals are forced to travel long distances to reach neighbouring villages.

A few days back, a concrete bridge on the Bakra river in Araria of Bihar, built at a cost of around Rs 12 crore had collapsed before its inauguration.
