Balangir MLA Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo Elected President of National Rifle Association of India

Bhubaneswar: The MLA of Balangir, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo was elected as the president of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).

He defeated his rival, VK Dhall, by a margin of 36-21 in the election held in the Constitution Club of India.

Singh Deo, the former Lok Sabha MP from Balangir, was the interim NRAI president since the resignation of Raninder Singh, when the latter stepped down due to the National Sports Code’s restrictions on the tenure of sports federation heads.

Singh Deo as the interim head of the NRAI oversaw India’s performance at the Paris Olympics, where the country earned three bronze medals in shooting.

In his victory statement, Singh Deo expressed gratitude and emphasized his commitment to advancing the sport of shooting in India, with a focus on providing athletes with the necessary support and training.
