Dhaka: Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman announced on Wednesday that the country’s interim government, led by Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, will be officially sworn in on August 8 at 8:00 PM.
The new administration, appointed by President Mohammed Shahabuddin, will include an advisory council consisting of approximately 15 members.
This significant political transition follows the resignation and escape of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled the country amid widespread anti-government protests.
Yunus, the 84-year-old economist renowned for his work in social entrepreneurship, has been tasked with leading the interim government during this period of upheaval.
