Bengaluru Horror: Dismembered Body of 26-Year-Old Woman Found in Refrigerator

Bengaluru: In a gruesome discovery, Bengaluru police found the dismembered body of a 26-year-old woman inside a refrigerator in the Vyalikaval area.

The victim, identified as Mahalakshmi, who lived alone in a one-bedroom apartment, was found on Saturday.

Cops believe the murder occurred two to three days ago. Senior officials, including Additional Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Sathish Kumar, arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. A forensic team and a dog squad were deployed to assist in the investigation, gathering evidence and searching for leads.

“There is a one BHK house within the Vyalikaval Police limits. The body of a 26-year-old girl was found cut into pieces and stuffed in a refrigerator. Prima facie, the incident did not occur today; it appears to have happened 2-3 days ago,” said Kumar.

The brutality of the crime has drawn chilling comparisons to the 2022 Delhi murder of Shraddha Walkar by her live-in partner, Aftab Poonawalla, who similarly dismembered her body and stored it in a refrigerator before disposing of the parts.
