Odisha: BJD Lodges Complaint Against BJP’s MLA Candidate for Alleged Cash, Liquor Distribution

Bhubaneswar: Senior leaders of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) have formally lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha against Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Basta MLA candidate Rabindra Nath Andia.

They allege that Andia was involved in distributing money and foreign liquor to residents of Barakaurda village in Ratai Gram Panchayat, Baliapal block in Balasore district, violating pre-poll silence regulations. The incident reportedly occurred at 10 pm on Friday.

An FIR has been registered at the Basta police station in connection with the matter. BJD leaders are urging the CEO to increase monitoring efforts in the constituency and ensure adherence to the rule of law. They are also calling for legal action to be taken against Andia.

The BJD delegation stressed the importance of upholding electoral integrity and requested swift intervention and action from the CEO’s office.
