BJP Accuses Tejashwi Yadav of Stealing ACs, Sofas, Lights from Official Bungalow

Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Tejashwi Yadav of “stealing” furniture and fixtures from the official bungalow he vacated. Missing items include sofas, water taps, washbasins, air conditioners and lights, according to BJP officials. In response, Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has called for the BJP to release an inventory of the bungalow’s contents.

Tejashwi Yadav, who previously held the Deputy Chief Minister position, vacated the bungalow today to make way for his successor, Samrat Chaudhary. Chaudhary is set to move into the residence at 5 Deshratan Road in Patna during the auspicious festival of Vijayadashami.

Shatrughan Prasad, Personal Secretary to Chaudhary, expressed concerns over the missing items, stating, “When Sushil Modi occupied this house, it was fully furnished, including two hydraulic beds and guest sofas. Now, all these items are gone.” He further alleged that over 20 split air conditioners are missing, along with essential office furniture and kitchen appliances.

In Yadav’s defence, RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav challenged the BJP to request the Bhawan Nirman Vibhag to release the inventory. “If you can’t provide the inventory, then you should apologize,” he asserted, emphasising that evidence was recorded by party members and media.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh also joined the fray, demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged theft. He highlighted the absence of crucial amenities, including wash basins and gym equipments from the bungalow.
