Bomb Scare Halts Puri-Delhi Purushottam Express or Over 3 Hrs in UP

Lucknow: The Puri-New Delhi Purushotam Express was halted for over three hours at Tundla Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh at early hours of Thursday following a bomb threat. The railway authorities were alerted by a message from a X user that some unidentified source that some suspected terrorists with bombs were travelling in the train.

But the threat turned out to be a hoax. Thorough search of the train revealed nothing “suspicious”. The train was halted at Tunda station and was checked up from around 2.30 am to 6 am.

At around 2.30 am, every passenger in all coaches of the Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express was woken up and their luggage were checked thoroughly with metal detectors and dog squads. But nothing suspicious was found.

The hoax X message stated that some suspected terrorists were travelling in the train with explosives, which they were to plant in Air India Delhi-Leh flight.
