Booked Under POCSO, WFI Chief Brij Bhusan Wants Govt to Change the Law

New Delhi: Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Singh, who has been booked under the POCSO Act, said “We will force the government to change” it. He alleged that the POCSO Act is being “misused on a large scale”.

He said this at a meeting in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich for preparations for a rally of seers called by him in Ayodhya on June 5. Brij Bhushan Singh is a BJP MP from Kaiserganj. He is alleged to have sexually harassed women wrestlers, including a minor.

Since April 2023, top wrestlers of the country, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, are protesting against the WFI chief at Jantar Mantar in Delhi since April 23. The wrestlers are demanding his arrest.

Two FIRs against the WFI chief have been registered by the Delhi Police including one under the POCSO Act.

Brij Bhushan Singh reiterated that all the allegations levelled against him are false and the POCSO Act was introduced by the Congress government without examining its various aspects.
