CID Files Chargesheet Against Former Karnataka CM Yediyurappa in POCSO Case

Bengaluru: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has filed a chargesheet against former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa in a special court for POCSO cases.

The case originated from a complaint filed in March by the mother of a 17-year-old girl, alleging molestation on February 2 at Yediyurappa’s Dollars Colony residence. Karnataka DGP Alok Mohan subsequently transferred the case from Sadashivanagar police to the CID for further investigation.

Yediyurappa has vehemently denied the accusations, stating that “people would teach a lesson to those indulging in conspiracies against me.”

The political landscape was further complicated by the recent passing of the 54-year-old complainant, who succumbed to lung cancer last month.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the CID questioned Yediyurappa for approximately three hours on June 17. However, the Karnataka High Court has issued orders preventing his arrest in this case.
