CM Mohan Majhi Exempts Ground Rent for Puja Pandals This Festival Season in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: No ground rent will be collected from the puja committees holding community puja on government land during this year’s festive season, declared Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Friday.

He made this announcement while extending best wishes to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Maha Asthami.

Earlier, the puja committees across the State were paying ground rent for setting up decorative gates and organising programmes on government land. Now all the puja mandaps across the State will be rent-free.

The puja committees requested the administration to make necessary arrangements for the refund of the amount they have deposited as rent for this year’s puja.
