CoBRA Jawan Shoots Himself Dead in Koraput

Koraput: A jawan of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver in the Koraput district of Odisha in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as S Dilip from Dwarka in Gujarat.

According to reports, Dillip, who was deployed in the Sunabeda police station area in Koraput, shot himself below his chin with his service revolver at around 3.40 am on Wednesday.

At that time he was on guard duty at gate no. 2 of their camp at Rajput. He died on the spot.

The reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained. Sunabeda police have seized the body and sent it for postmortem.
