Chennai: A team of around 150 cops raided the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore as part of an inquiry following a report sought by the Madras High Court from the Tamil Nadu government on all criminal cases registered against spiritual guru Jaggi Vasudev’s institution.
The Madras High Court Bench while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by S Kamaraj, a retired professor from Coimbatore, directed the Tamil Nadu Government to submit particulars on all criminal cases registered against the Isha Foundation.
In his petition before the High Court, Kamaraj alleged that his two daughters were “brainwashed to reside at the Isha Yoga Centre” in Coimbatore and that the foundation barred them from having any contact with their families. Isha Foundation has denied the allegations.
