Couple Killed as Dumper Rams Into Their House in Balasore District

Balasore: A couple died when a dumper carrying stone chips lost control and rammed into their house at Ambaliatha Chhak of Kasidiha village under Jaleswar police station limits in Balasore district.

The deceased were identified as Sudhir Jena and his wife Gitarani Jena.

According to reports, while the couple was sleeping inside their house, the dumper from West Bengal strayed off the road and rammed into the house. The dumper crushed them to death on the spot. The driver of the dumper escaped from the spot after committing the accident.

Following the tragic incident, locals demonstrated at the spot demanding compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. Local police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them for autopsy.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
