Curfew Extended in Communal Violence Hit Balasore Till Midnight Today With 4-hour Relaxation

Balasore:  The curfew imposed in the Balasore municipality area following communal violence was extended till June 20 midnight. But to provide some respite to the general public, the administration granted a 4-hour curfew relaxation period from 7 am to 11 am on Thursday.

During this curfew relaxation time, all commercial establishments are allowed to remain open.

The decision to relax curfew restrictions will enable the public to access emergency essentials such as groceries, medicines, vegetables, and milk.

But there will be restrictions on public gatherings and large-scale movement of people during the relaxation period.

Internet services will remain suspended in sensitive areas of the town, except for banks and some government offices.

Police have arrested 35 persons for their involvement in the violent clash that led to the curfew.
