200 Kg of Cocaine Worth ₹2,000 Cr Seized in Delhi, 2nd Major Drug Bust in a Week

New Delhi: In a major crackdown, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has seized over ₹7,000 crore worth of cocaine in a week, making it the largest drug bust in India’s history. The latest operation occurred in Delhi’s Ramesh Nagar, where the police confiscated 200 kg of cocaine valued at ₹2,000 crore.

The Special Cell tracked a key drug supplier using GPS and located him in west Delhi. Although the accused managed to flee to London, authorities successfully seized the drugs. This bust is part of the same syndicate linked to a ₹5,600 crore cocaine haul earlier this week, with a total of 762 kg of drugs seized.

Last week, Delhi Police arrested four men after a 500 kg cocaine raid in south Delhi. The operation led to the capture of Jitendra Pal Singh, alias Jassi, at Amritsar airport. Singh, a UK resident for the last 17 years, attempted to flee to the United Kingdom but was intercepted following the issuance of a Look-Out Circular (LOC). His arrest points to the involvement of international organised crime syndicates smuggling drugs into India.

Police investigations revealed that the drug network operates across Delhi and Mumbai, with possible connections to Dubai. An Indian national, Virendra Basoya, currently residing in West Asia, has been identified as a key suspect.

This massive seizure follows the recent arrest of two Afghan nationals in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, where authorities found 400 grams of heroin and 160 grams of cocaine. A Liberian passenger arriving from Dubai was also arrested under the NDPS Act after being caught with drugs.
