Detainee Escapes From Police Station Overpowing Cops In  Koraput District

Koraput: Two accused who were detained on charges of abducting a minor boy, managed to overpower the constables on duty and Nandpur police station in Odisha’s Koraput district on Sunday.

One of the escapees was arrested by the police. The other one is still absconding.

According to reports, on Sunday afternoon, the personnel of the Nandpur police station rounded up the two accused on for allegedly abducting a minor boy.

On Sunday evening, one of the detainees came out of the police station on some pretext and tried to escape by jumping over the boundary wall. The constables on duty tried to stop him. But he overpowered them and escaped. In the meantime, the other accused also tried to escape from the police station. But he was nabbed by the policemen.

A manhunt is on to track down the absconding accused.
