New Delhi: Tremors of an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 were felt in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi during the wee hours of Thursday.
The quake occurred at around 2:02 am at a depth of 5 km, the National Center for Seismology said.
“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.1, Occurred on 16-11-2023, 02:02:10 IST, Lat: 31.04 & Long: 78.23, Depth: 5 Km ,Location:Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand,India,” the NCS wrote on X.
A rescue operation is underway at the Silkyara-Barkot under-construction tunnel in Uttarkashi, after a part of it collapsed on Sunday morning, stranding 40 workers.
