ED to Make AAP an Accused in Delhi Liquor Policy Case

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is expected to inform the Supreme Court that it is going to make the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) an accused in the Delhi liquor policy case.

A day back the Supreme Court asked the ED to clarify as to why the AAP, which is alleged to be a beneficiary, was not made an accused in the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case.

A bench of Justices Sanjeev Khanna and SV Bhatti asked Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for both the CBI and the ED, “As far as the PMLA is concerned, your whole case is that it (proceeds of crime) went to a political party. That political party is still not an accused. How do you answer that?”

The court was hearing two petitions filed by Sisodia challenging the decisions of the Delhi High Court to deny him bail in the cases being investigated by the CBI and the ED.

On Wednesday, AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was arrested by the ED in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal slammed the Centre after Sanjay Singh’s arrest and said that Narendra Modi is the most corrupt Prime Minister of India since independence.
