Elderly Man Dies While Standing in Queue to Vote in Balasore Dist

Balasore: A 77-year-old man died while waiting in a queue at a polling booth to cast his vote in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.

According to reports, this sad incident happened at booth No. 159 at Ishwarpur in Nilagiri assembly constituency. The deceased was identified as has been identified as Surendra Mohanty.

The elderly man suddenly collapsed to the ground and fainted. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Although the exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he may have become a victim of heatstroke because of the intense hot and humid climate.
