Elderly Woman Axed to Death by Neighbour in Kalahandi District

Bhawanipatna: An elderly woman, Kalindri Tandi was hacked to death by her neighbour at Majhiguda village under the Koksara police station limits in Kalahandi district on Wednesday.

The accused identified as Shrikar Punji attacked Kalindri with an axe while she was returning home after having her bath in the early morning hours. Punji’s blow to Kalindri’s head left her unconscious.

Her family members rushed her to the Koksara Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by the doctors.

The reason behind Kalindri’s murder is yet to be ascertained. The accused Punji has absconded after committing the murder.

The Koksara police have started an investigation and trying to nab the accused.
