Ex-CM of Jharkhand Hemant Soren Granted Bail by Jharkhand High Court

Ranchi: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren was granted bail by the Jharkha nd High Court on Friday. He was arrested by the ED in January in a money laundering case.

The ED alleged that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader ran a scheme to manipulate records, via fictitious transactions and forged documents, to acquire a large tract of land worth several crore rupees.

Soren resigned from the post of Jharhand CM on January 31 ahead of his arrest by the ED. He is accused of illegally acquiring 8.86 acres land in Ranchi.
