First Session Of 18th Lok Sabha Adjourned Sine Die

New Delhi: The inaugural session of the 18th Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Tuesday after passing the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address in a joint session of Parliament.

The session, spanning from June 24, featured seven sittings totalling 34 hours with a remarkable House productivity of 103%, announced Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

During the first two days, 539 Lok Sabha members took oath or affirmed their commitments. Om Birla was elected as the Lok Sabha Speaker on June 26, and President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint sitting of Parliament on June 27.

A substantial participation marked the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address, initiated by BJP’s Anurag Thakur and seconded by Bansuri Swaraj, with over 68 members engaging in discussions. Speaker Birla noted that the debate lasted for 18 hours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded the session by responding to the debate on the Motion of Thanks on Tuesday.
