New Delhi: Former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq came up with a public apology for his controversial remarks about Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

His inappropriate comment regarding the actress had sparked much criticism on social media. His fellow cricketers had also bashed him for the uncouth remark.

While speaking to Pakistan media about the Pakistan cricket team’s performance and coaching strategies, Razzaq mentioned Aishwarya Rai in a metaphor in a disrespectful manner. It led to severe backlash from the public and condemnation from other cricketers.

Responding to the criticism, Razzaq appeared on Samaa TV to apologize. He said, “Yesterday, we were talking about cricket coaching and intentions. I had a slip of tongue and mistakenly took Aishwarya Rai’s name. I apologise to her personally. I did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiment.”
