Goddess Kali’s Crown Gifted by PM Modi Stolen from Bangladesh Temple

New Delhi: A gold crown gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple (Satkhira) in Bangladesh has been stolen. PM Modi had gifted this crown to the deity of the temple in 2021 has been stolen.

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka in a post on X expressed “deep concern” over the theft and said, “We have seen reports of theft of the crown gifted by PM Modi to Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple (Satkhira) in 2021”.

“We express deep concern and urge the Government of Bangladesh to investigate theft, recover the crown and take action against the perpetrators,” the High Commission added. This temple is one of the ‘shaktipeeth’ of the Hindu religion in Bangladesh.
