Pune: Three persons died when a helicopter crashed at Bavdhan in Pune shortly after take-off on Wednesday morning. The three victims were identified as pilots Girish Kumar Pillai and Paramjit Singh and engineer Pritamchand Bharadwaj.
The helicopter took off from Oxford Golf Course helipad at 7.30 am and crashed within five minutes after take-off. Police suspect that poor visibility due to dense fog may be the reason behind the crash.
The helicopter belonged to Delhi-based Heritage Aviation. It was on its way to Maharashtra’s Beed to transport NCP leader Sunil Tatkare from there to Mumbai.
