T20 WC 2024: ICC Relocates Pakistan Team’s Hotel Closer to Stadium Following PCB Chief’s Concerns

New York: In response to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s discontent regarding the team’s distant accommodation, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has relocated the Pakistan cricket team’s hotel. Previously, the team was housed 90 minutes away from Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. After Naqvi’s intervention, they are now just a five-minute drive from the venue, as reported by Geo News.

Naqvi reached out to the ICC and effectively persuaded the World Cup management to change the team’s hotel location, ensuring better convenience for the players. This move comes as Pakistan prepares for their Group A matches against India on June 9 and Canada on June 11 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, is on a mission to secure their first T20 World Cup title since 2007. They started strong with a commanding 8-wicket victory over Ireland. Meanwhile, Pakistan will kick off their campaign against the co-hosts, the USA, on Thursday in Dallas.

In the T20 World Cup history, India and Pakistan have clashed seven times. India has dominated with five wins, one loss, and one tied game. The highly anticipated encounter between the arch-rivals will unfold on Sunday in New York, promising another thrilling chapter in their storied rivalry.
